The immersive experience at PALS – so much energy, so much love – is what keeps me coming back each year. I am a huge believer in the power of inclusion, and I feel like PALS creates an environment of acceptance and inclusion for people with Down syndrome. The PALS motto, "This is our place," lends to the environment created by PALS, offering participants the opportunity to "shine,” to be accepted and included as their authentic selves.

Before my first summer in 2018, I was a little nervous. But within the first few days, I immediately fell in love with PALS and the environment. Over the span of the week of camp, I spent a lot of time with my team, developing friendships with each of my teammates. I got to see their strengths, their gifts, and just how unique each and every one of them were. PALS really gave me a much stronger insight into the Down syndrome community and shaped my perspective.

I have been a volunteer with PALS since the summer of 2018, going on 3 years now. I have been both a counselor and an ambassador during the off season, recruiting, promoting, and fundraising for PALS.

It's been an absolute blessing to be involved with this wonderful organization

PALS Love,
