National Volunteer Month: Meaghan

BY MEAGHAN O’DAY

PALS VOLUNTEER LEADER

April is National Volunteer Month! We are so grateful for each volunteer who makes PALS possible each summer. Meaghan has been part of PALS for more than 9 years as a paired Participant, Medical Volunteer, and Program Lead. Hear from Meaghan about her life currently and what she is excited about for this summer.

Hey PALS fam! My name is Meaghan O'Day and I've been coming to PALS since 2012! When I'm not at PALS, I'm working as a pediatric physical therapist, running, or spending time with my husband and dog, Pinot. I've lived near San Francisco for the past 6 years, but have now moved to Los Angeles to be closer to family and enjoy that sweet southern California sunshine.

My earliest PALS memory was at Camp PALS West (which has now become PALS San Francisco), meeting my roommate Erin at camper arrival. She introduced herself to me in her Joe Jonas shirt as a self-proclaimed "chocoholic" and I knew we were going to be fast friends! I had such a great time hanging out with and getting to know Erin that week. So I kept coming back for 9+ more years! My time at PALS has helped me become more confident in my own skin and has helped me develop leadership skills I never knew I had. I can't wait to come back to PALS this summer! Looking forward to joining the medical team to help keep everyone safe and healthy at camp!

PALS love,

Meaghan
