Making PALS at Play:CLE

This past July, we had the pleasure of welcoming PALS Cleveland to Play:CLE, an Indoor Adventure Park in Avon, Ohio. It's a place where you can be active and social while challenging yourself and others. We have a combination of fun and challenging activities with a little bit of something for everyone. We feature a ropes course, zipline, several climbing walls, ninja and parkour course, and we're constantly evolving. Play:CLE has just added the A.R.C. feature which is an augmented reality climbing wall. It's truly unique and we're the only one in the area to have this activity. Our facility is beneficial to groups of all ages and ability levels. It was beneficial to the PALS participants because they were able to try things they may not have tried before, and challenge themselves in ways that they wouldn’t on a regular basis.

When a volunteer leader from PALS filled out an inquiry form, we worked with them to get an event booked. We didn’t know it would lead to one of our favorite days at Play:CLE!

As the Sales Manager, I don't often see the groups in action, as I work a combination of on-site and remote. The day that PALS came, I was not in the building but I received an overwhelming number of text messages and tons of feedback from our Play: Staff, raving about how much fun they had and what a cool experience it was.

We enjoy all of our groups but it was particularly special to have the staff and managers go out of their way to share such positive feedback during and after the event. Our team member Julie shared her favorite moment: "Hands down when the whole building encouraged and cheered for Molly to come down the zipline and me on the other end waiting to catch her. Watching her overcome that fear was so rewarding and sharing a tear with her and her PALS buddy at the end was a moment I will never forget!"

One of our supervisors, Storm, shared these words: "Watching everyone conquer their fears by going across the zipline and seeing the support from the whole building was amazing. The energy in Play:CLE that day was the best thing I have been a part of. The love and support between everyone brought me to tears."

Having PALS at Play:CLE was a reminder of why we do what we do. We love to see our guests challenging themselves, conquering their fears, and building each other up. PALS did just that! We're excited for future opportunities to partner with the organization.
