After launching PALS Affinity Groups in March, we wanted to create a space specifically for individuals with Down syndrome in the PALS community to discuss their shared experiences, triumphs, and challenges beyond programs. Thanks to the help of Sam and Zoe, co-facilitators, we are introducing a Self Advocate Affinity Group! This group will run similarly to other affinity groups in the PALS community by meeting virtually and for one hour per month.
To carry out our mission of inspiring a world of belonging, we believe lifting the voices of participants with Down syndrome in our community is vital to the growth of the organization. We envision young adults with Down syndrome coming together to connect, share about their experiences in the community, and collaborate about how to grow as a leader in PALS and in their communities.
We are committed everyday to inspiring a world of belonging, and we believe creating a self advocate affinity group is another step in reaching this mission. We invite individuals with Down syndrome to register for this affinity group to reconnect with old friends, meet new ones in a meaningful space together, and grow in their leadership at PALS.
