PALS Co-Executive Director
In June of 2016, I stepped onto Cabrini University’s campus, flooded with nervous excitement for my first week of camp at PALS Philadelphia. Little did I know that I was about to experience the greatest dance parties, participate in an unforgettable karaoke night, build life-long friendships, and change the course of my own life. I felt drawn to PALS because of its commitment to building inclusive communities, where young people with and without Down syndrome could form friendships and grow together. It was this spirit of inclusion and the genuine connections I experienced that made me want to keep coming back.
In 2020, my journey with PALS took a new and exciting turn when I joined the staff team. Becoming part of the inner workings of an organization I had already grown so passionate about felt like a gift. I was eager to contribute on a larger scale, working to deepen the roots of our program locations and pour into the young people who dedicated their time and talents to PALS. The unexpected challenges of 2020 pushed us to adapt and innovate, and I was so proud to be part of a team that consistently rose to the occasion.
Fast forward to today, and I am incredibly excited to step into the role of Co-Executive Director. It is a privilege to be able to lead an organization that means so much to me and my family. This role is a culmination not just of my volunteer experience and love of the mission, but also my roots in special education and advanced degree in behavioral studies. As I step into this role, I remain grounded in the mission of PALS: creating a world where everyone belongs, and where the unique strengths and talents of each individual are celebrated.
I believe wholeheartedly in the power of young people to drive positive change. Over the years, I’ve seen firsthand how our volunteers and participants uplift one another, challenge themselves, and inspire a different world. They are the reason I believe so strongly in the mission of PALS and dream about what could be possible.
Looking ahead, I am filled with optimism. Together, we are working towards a more inclusive world where friendships are built across differences and everyone is empowered to be their best selves. As Co-Executive Director, I look forward to continuing this journey and seeing what we accomplish together!
