World Down Syndrome Day is a global awareness day celebrated on March 21st. This month, we will be sharing stories from members of the PALS Family to celebrate individuals with Down syndrome, hear their stories, and the impact individuals have made on the lives of others. Today, we hear from Ian and Laura. Ian is a Partner who attended PALS last summer. Laura is Ian’s mom and a parent within the PALS Family.

"we love pals"

We celebrate WDSD because our amazing son, Ian, has introduced us to this wonderful community.

We start the month of March with Ian’s birthday on March 2nd. Ian is a great skier and we will be in Vermont that weekend to celebrate his 19th birthday.

We will also go to a gala for Gigi’s Playhouse on March 18th where Ian will show his dance moves.

Gigi’s Playhouse is another great organization, like PALS, that celebrates our extra chromosome.

Ian wants to become a legend like Elvis and loves to sing. Besides swimming, exercising, singing and skiing, Ian loves bowling, playing mini golf, rock climbing. He’s currently training to work the cash register at a cafe and wants to work in a hair salon next.

He went to PALS summer camp for the first time last summer and LOVED it!

We love PALS for the opportunity to spend a week of fun.
