World Down Syndrome Day is a global awareness day celebrated on March 21st. This month, we will be sharing stories from members of the PALS Family to celebrate individuals with Down syndrome, hear their stories, and the impact individuals have made on the lives of others. Today, we hear from Gabby and Sheree. Gabby is a Partner who attended PALS San Francisco last summer. Sheree is Gabby’s mom and a parent within the PALS Family.

"Gifts such as true friendship..."

This World Down Syndrome Day, I am celebrating all of the amazing gifts we've been given as a result of having Gabby and being introduced to this amazing community of people. Gifts such as true friendship, compassion, patience, laughter, and living in the moment. Our lives are so much richer because of Down syndrome.

Through PALS, Gabby was able to have the absolute time of her life and create long-lasting bonds last summer in San Francisco. We often say that being around someone with Down syndrome is like having a front row seat to a magic show-- captivating, exciting, hilarious, and FUN!

Walking into PALS camp for the first time was a feeling I don't think any of us can accurately describe. It was...magic! And for that, this World Down Syndrome Day, we celebrate! Cheers to this community and the magical gifts it brings!
